Study Transfers to Other Users
Study Transfers to Other Users
Published March 25, 2026
We are pleased to announce a new study transfer feature in DORAS that lets you hand off full ownership of a study to another user — complete with all associated data, map layers, and analysis files. Whether you are reassigning work during a project handover, reorganizing studies across your team, or transitioning responsibilities to a colleague, study transfer makes the process seamless and secure.
How It Works
Transferring a study takes just a few clicks directly from your study list. Each study row now includes a Transfer button alongside the existing sharing controls. Clicking it opens a modal that displays all eligible recipients — users within your company who are ready to take ownership.
The transfer modal includes a search bar so you can quickly locate the right person by email address. Once you have found them, click Transfer next to their name, then confirm your choice. The system takes care of the rest: moving files, updating ownership records, and notifying the recipient by email.
Key Capabilities
- Company-scoped transfers — Regular users can transfer studies to any active colleague within the same company.
- Complete ownership handover — The recipient gains full ownership of the study including all files and data.
- Share link revocation — Any active share links for the study are revoked during the transfer.
- Email notification — The recipient receives an email notification, and the sender is copied on the notification for their records.
- Locked study protection — Studies that are locked cannot be transferred. You must unlock a study before initiating a transfer.
Getting Started
The transfer button is available now on your study list. Simply navigate to your studies, find the one you want to transfer, and click the green Transfer button. If the study is currently locked, unlock it first using the existing lock toggle, then proceed with the transfer.
As always, if you have questions or feedback about this feature, please reach out to our support team. We are committed to making DORAS a more collaborative and efficient platform for offshore dropped object risk analysis.
